Bioshock ( Xbox 360, PS3, PC )


This atmospheris shooter yakes place in a quai-futuristic underwater city that's abandoned, save for such mysterious creatures as "little susters" and "big daddies." the game, slated for a spring release, looks to redefine what a first person shooter can be, giving players a multitude of solutions for solving the adventure's various problems. Mass Effect ( Xbox 360 )


The deceloper BioWare has a reputation for innovative, engaging role-playing games, which is a big reason we're looking forward to this one, a sci-fi story set in another galaxy. As usual, dialogue plays a big role, but the developer has devised a way to eliminate the lag involved when choosing what your character should say next, giving discourse the feel of real time conversation.

Super Mario Galaxy













What's a new Nintendo system without one of the best know characters in videogames? Players can tilt, point and shake the motion sensing Wii controllers to send Mario leaping from planet to planet in an intergalactic search for the kidnapped Princess Peach.

Grand Theft Auto IV ( Xbox 360, PS3 )


Just the mere mention of the new GTS game is enough to make the series' fans eager which will have to to, seeing as almost nothing is known about it. Microsoft made news last May by announcing the game would be released this coming October on both the Xbox 360 and PS3, thus ending the practice of having new games in the series make their debut first o the PlayStation before migrating to other platforms.

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots ( PS3 )

So far, all that's known about this ine what's been shown in trailers, but that hasn't stopped it from being one of the most anticipanted upcoming releases on the PS3. Expect new ways for stealthly soldier Snake to sneak around, as well as the usual complex plot and treatises on war.

And if the graphics form the trailers are any indication of what else to watch for, we really can't wait for this one.

After the cliffhanger ending of Halo 2, fans have awaited is supposedly the last installment of on of the best selling game series ever. The saga of the armour clad futuristic supersoldier Master Chief has yet to debut on the 14 month old Xbox 360, but when it does ( likely not until the end of the year ), expect record sales.

Fight for Asia's gamers heats up


The fight of the gamers is heating up this year in Asia's comparatively untapped markets with fans no longer enduring long waits for the latest games consoles, companies said. " South East Asian consumers like new technology". Sony COmputer Entertainment group chief financial officer Masaru Kato told Digital Living, a Straits Timers publication.

"We cannot delay out South East Asia on launch too much," he said. Alan bowman, general manager of Microsoft's entertainment and device division in the Asia Pacific region, said the company is constantly evaluating Asian market for potentinal opportunities.

Efforts are also being made to engage the Asian game with " culturally relevant games,"Bowman was quoted as saying. Plans are under way to release in English version of the Japanese role playing game Blue Dragon, and Kato expressed hope that Asian made games will take off.

"One of the things we look foward to from the South East Asia market is the content," he said." We are seeing that already" in taiwan, South Korea, China and Singapore, he added. He predicted many games will be originating from the region within three to five yeard "not just for the local but hopefully for the global market," - dpa

News Quest only for Nintendo us


Square Enix will release its latest DragonQeust XI game nest year exclusively for use in Nintendo DS portable game console, the Japanese gamemaker said. Analysts said this could be a big blow for Sony Computer Entertaiment, because has been one of the flagship game title for its PlayStation platforms.

More than 41 million copies of the various versions of DragonQuest have been sold. Not since 1995 has Square Enix published any of the version of DragonQuest for use on a Nintendo game platform. AFN
